Shellkote provides a tile cleaning and sealing service for your porcelain surfaces. Our porcelain sealers and coatings form an easy to clean, low maintenance surface whilst adding value to and enhancing your surfaces.

Our cleaning and sealing process can give life back to your porcelain tiles and grout eliminating the possibility of having to re-tile.

Not all porcelain tiles need sealing. There are ‘Natural’, ‘Un-glazed’ and ‘Glazed’ Porcelain tiles.

However, we have the added option for the use of our glass and porcelain/ceramic coating that can be utilised on fully vitrified porcelain tiles creating an easy clean function for up to 10 years. Ask us how!

Natural porcelain tiles are considered porous and sealing is recommended for protection.

Un-glazed (generally sealed as part of the manufacturing process) and glazed porcelain tiles are generally considered non-porous and therefore don’t require sealing.

Glazed Porcelain tiles are vitrified and generally fall in the category of full vitrified tiles. This means that a porcelain tile has a water absorption of less than 0.5%.

You may wish to seal un-glazed or glazed porcelain as part of a grout sealing process for a minimal additional cost for 100% piece of mind.

In cases where they can be sealed we recommend and use only penetrating sealers which reduce efflorescence and staining occurring and make future maintenance easier.
